Founder #5 in Power People of New Orleans
WWL-TV polled about 30 community leaders to discover the most powerful people in the New Orleans area. Anne Milling, founder of Women of the Storm, ranked #5, her husband King Milling, Chair of America’s Wetland Foundation was #11. WWL’s profile said, “Longtime civic activist, Anne Milling became more of a public figure when she helped form the Women of the Storm, a group of local women trying to get every member of Congress to visit post-Katrina Louisiana. Clancy DuBos calls her 'the Lindy Boggs' of her generation, a reference to the former Congresswoman that brings comparisons because, like Mrs. Boggs, much of Anne Milling’s power comes from the respect people have for her.”
