Founder receives Hornblower Award

Anne Milling, founder of Women of the Storm, was named the New Orleans PRSA Chapter's 2007 "Hornblower of the Year.” The presentation was made at the chapter’s annual Awards Banquet on Nov. 14 at the Audubon Tearoom. In her selection as Hornblower, she joins previous winners including restauranteur Leah Chase (who is also a Woman of the Storm), “Mr. Mardi Gras” Blaine Kern, Ella Brennan, Archie Manning, Irma Thomas, Lindy Boggs (a Woman of the Storm), Xavier President Norman Francis, Paul Prudhomme, Pete Fountain, and Al Hirt.

Milling also received La Grande Dame Tribute from Veuve Clicquot, including a dinner at the New Orleans Museum of Art in conjunction with the Femme, Femme, Femme exhibit, and she was a guest at the company’s Business Woman Award Winner ceremonies, held Oct. 15-16 in Reims, France.
