WOS Honored by Saints

Woman of the Storm/restaurant owner Leah Chase, Peggy Laborde, Karen Wood, Becky Currence and Bev Church get the spirit as the Saints go for a touchdown.
Women of the Storm stood proudly on the 50-yard line of the Superdome on Sept. 24, blue-tarp umbrellas aloft, when they were one of seven groups honored by the New Orleans Saints for grassroots activism and achievements post-Hurricane Katrina. Others recognized at half-time of the nationally televised Saints/Titans game included the Louisiana SPCA, New Schools for New Orleans, Beacon of Hope, Katrina Krewe, CityYear, and Rebuild New Orleans. Thanks to Rita Benson LeBlanc, owner of the Saints and a  Woman of the Storm, who made the honor - and the evening - possible!
