New Orleans, Memphis, Dubuque: Taking the Message up the Mississippi

Women of the Storm Founder, Anne Milling, with children from the Prescott Elementary School in Dubuque, IA.
Women of the Storm hoisted our blue-tarp umbrellas aloft in three cities in recent weeks to draw attention to the importance of New Orleans and Louisiana to every state in the nation, particularly the 31 states that are linked to the city by the Mississippi River and its tributaries. Our events were sponsored in conjunction with partner organizations including the America’s WETLAND Foundation, the Coastal Protection and Restoration Authority, Ducks Unlimited, the City of Dubuque and the National Mississippi River Museum.
